Coming to central Ho Chi Minh City, or Saigon, is especially disorienting for a new visitor. It’s one of the largest and densest of the cities in Southeast Asia and, despite wide boulevards designed by the French during their long occupation, Saigon is more a mesh of streets intersecting at odd angles and laced together by narrow alleyways. With over 5 million motorized bikes and half a million cars on the road, it buzzes incessantly with the most intense traffic flows and engine revving or honking everywhere.

Unlike other towns, though, there aren’t a lot of sites for tourist visiting in the city, though the parks and the cafes prove very inviting. So we’ve been thinking instead of writing some posts, but stay tuned for more on our experience here.

In the meantime, you can view pictures from Saigon on the Vietnam itinerary page. Just CLICK HERE to go to the slide show at the end of that page.
